As you may have heard, the Federal Government recently decided to stop sending your Federal benefits payments by check. Soon you will be forced to either open a bank account or the government will send you a prepaid card that they have set up through a bank in Texas. This will change the way that you will be able to access your Federal Benefits (SSI/SSA/VA/Retirement Benefits, etc). If you are switched to the government card, you will no longer be able to receive your cash here, as you have in the past. We want to let you know that you have a choice. We have partnered with NexisCard, a prepaid card that will allow you to get your cash each month right here at our location as you always have. The NexisCard does not have a monthly fee, overdraft fees, and you don’t have to pay ATM fees if you come here to pick up your cash. Also, there is no application and no credit check, and we can process everything right here in our location. Switching to the NexisCard is easy and will allow you to come back here pick up your cash, pay your bills without having to change the way you conduct your financial transactions each month. The time to act is now, because if you do nothing, eventually you will be switched to the government card even if you do not want to.
