Transfers over $1,000 require valid identification. (Exceptions may exist for money transfers being sent to countries such as Cuba and China, among others).

Through western union you can also pay most of your bills through either Quick Collect or Swift Pay.

Swift Pay
Western Union Swift Pay services enable you to pay your phone bills to participating companies, and can also be used to deposit money into your Western Union Gold Card. Fees for Swift Pay transfers vary, depending on the company and the amount being sent.

Quick Collect
Use Quick Collect to make bill payments to participating companies. In order to determine whether a company accepts Quick Collect Payments, it is necessary that you call their offices and ask them. Next, you will need to receive their code city and state. It is required that you have the company's code city and state, your name, address, and account number available before making a payment. Similarly to sending money transfers, a valid Id is required for payment amounts exceeding $1,000.
